Founded in 1999 as the Putnam Community Foundation, in 2017 the Brewster Senior Housing Foundation updated its name to reflect its commitment to providing quality, affordable housing for seniors in the Village of Brewster and greater Putnam County, while giving back to the local community.
BSHF strives to create the highest quality of life for its residents, offering comfortable, inviting residences and an active, inclusive community. Recognizing the interconnectedness of individual and community, the Foundation then reinvests its profits and donations back into the local neighborhood. Through youth scholarships, volunteerism, and financial support of local charitable organizations, BSHF seeks to help all of its neighbors in the Village of Brewster reach their highest potential.
The mission of the Brewster Senior Housing Foundation (the “Foundation”) is to provide and manage the units of affordable senior housing presently located at 50 Main Street and at Mayor Mitchell Court for Putnam County residents. Situated in historic Brewster, NY, the Foundation will also strive to participate in local matters and events in order to improve the quality of life for its residents as well as the community at large.
